Legal Workshop on Cyber and IPR Laws

CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus is organizing a Legal Workshop based on Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Laws and Business Laws. The duration of the Workshop is 4 days which will commence from 18 May, 2022 and will end on 21 May, 2022. It is being conducted in collaboration with Exodium Edu Hub, specially for the II and III Year Law Students. In an era where internet and internet based technologies are booming, we find the need to research and implement laws that adapt to these changes. Laws related to what has come to be known as the ‘cyberspace’ are called Cyber Laws. Digital information and its circulation, e-commerce, computer software and hardwares, the World Wide Web, social media platforms are all inclusive within cyberspace. Intellectual property rights focuses on inventions and creations and the rights of these inventors and creators to protect their product for a specified period of time. As time progressed, law started to recognize the human mind as an Intellectual Property of the owner, who has the right to protect his creations and maintain it through various I.P.R laws. 

Imminent Advocates who excel in their fields of specialization have been invited to take up different subjects for the Workshop. Adv. H B Keshava and Adv. Uttakarsh Mattikop are the Directors of Exodium Ex C Solutions Pvt Ltd and will be sharing their knowledge and experiences in their areas of expertise. Collectively, their specializations include, Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Laws, Trademark Law, Labour Law, Space Law and much more. Through these sessions they hope to enlighten us and bring about massive change in the use of technology and legal awareness for young and the old generation. The Workshop seeks to give to the students a fun, lively and insightful experience by including the following topics: Intellectual Property, Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents, Designs, Geographic Indicators, Trademark and Copyright Practice, Patents and Design Practice that is all inclusive of case studies and landmark judgements. Overall, this will also equip the students to handle internships better by giving them a practical understanding of the field of study.
